Potential SFUSD school mergers

Here's a quick list of the possible mergers announced by SFUSD staff at the Dec. 6 Committee of the Whole meeting, pending discussion, community meetings etc. This is rough, based on my notes, and not fact-checked.

Daniel Webster and Starr King at the Starr King site.
John Swett and John Muir at the John Muir site.
International Studies Academy and Enola Maxwell into a 6-12 achool at
the Enola Maxwell site.

EITHER:
JBBP West and Cabrillo at the Cabrillo site,
OR
JBBP West and Rosa Parks at the Rosa Parks site.

New Traditions and Grattan at the Grattan site.

EITHER:
Newcomer and the newcomer programs at Everett and Francisco to the
current Edison Charter Academy site;
OR
only Newcomer to the Edison Charter Academy site.

(An Edison move to the De Avila site is under discussion; Edison is a
state-run charter, not SFUSD, but is a rent-paying tenant in SFUSD.)

A proposed move but not a merger:
Aim High and June Jordan to the Luther Burbank site, where they would
keep their names and be separate schools; and close Luther Burbank.

Willie L. Brown and Gloria R. Davis at the Gloria R. Davis site.

Remaining possible closures under consideration after the mergers:

Malcolm X
Jose Ortega
Sheridan
McKinley

Also, moving Leadership High School to the Treasure Island site is
under discussion.
