First reports from School Closure Meeting
San Francisco's Board of Education Thursday night voted to close, merge and relocate more than a dozen public schools to save some of the millions that the district says it lost this year due to declining enrollment.The following schools are affected:
- Enola Maxwell closed
- Luther Burbank closed
- Cabrillo closed
- JBBP West merged into Rosa Parks
- John Swett merged into John Miur
- ISA moved to Enola Maxwell
- Aim High moved to Luther Burbank
- Downtown High School moved to ISA
- Center for Independent Studies moved to JBBP West
- Newcomer moved to Edison.
- Edison Charter relocated to TBD
- Leadership moved to TBD
- Peabody, Malcolm X, McKinley, Ortega, Rosa Parks and Sheridan will not be closed
- New Traditions and Grattan will not be merged
- Willie Brown will not be relocated
- The county programsz will not be relocated
- Starr King and Daniel Webster will not be merged
