The UESF has picked their school Board endorsements. Congraultions to Bob Twomey, Kim-Shree Maufas, and Hydra Mendoza. Nice to have the considerable influence and energy of the teachers' union behind you!
Since its founding in 2000, many dedicated school stakeholders have gathered on sfschools@yahoogroups.com to advocate for better schools in San Francisco. The Yahoo group is great for engaging, moblizing, sharing information with a very motivated, diverse group of parents, educators, politicians, and reporters. If you like what you read here and you want to add your voice to our conversation, please join us.
"Think globally, act locally" is an apt motto for this blog. Many issues facing San Francisco schools are regional and national in scope. Here we share our experiences and ideas with a wider audience. Also, many San Franciscans prefer to skip the often passionate debate found on the list. The blog provides them with useful information in an accessible format.
Enjoy!

What does Bob Twomey have to offer the SF schools besides support for UESF?
He's been an active parent at Swett and Lawton. But his campaign website puts a pretty heavy emphasis on his deep SEIU labor roots.
It'll be interesting to hear what he has to say.
