LWV and PPS Candidate's Forum

Tonight at the Koret Auditorium in the basement of the Main Library, the League of Women Voters along with SF Parents for Public Schools and a number of other organizations presented a panel discussion with all 15 of the candidates for the BOE. Kudos to the League for organizing and producing this event. The large panel made for a challenging format. All candidates responded to every question asked by the moderator. Answers were limited to one minute. While this was fair, and allowed for a well rounded set of questions, it resulted in a fairly choppy, clipped set of responses. It was hard to get a sense of any one candidate when you heard them for one minute every 15 minutes or so.

So more research is still needed. It was good to get acquainted with all candidates and to get a sense of their priorities. There will be plenty of chances to hear more from them.

Here are a few low quality shots from the night. LWV has plans to publish video of the event, and there were other cameras undoubtedly getting better shots of the candidates. I'll see what I can dig up.
