Norman Yee injured

Norman Yee has undegone spinal surgery on his neck and remains hospitalized after being struck by a car Tuesday night. What little is known of the accident can be read in the Chron here. It certainly sounds worrisome.

Our prayers go out to Commissioner Yee and his family.

KC,

I have no direct knowledge of Norman's injuries, but I do know about the types of injuries likely in an auto vs pedestrian accident. There is still so little is known (the police accident report hasn't even been released! ) that we are all grasping a straws trying to understand the possibilities, and the Chron reported my speculative comments with more certainty than I have.
Until his family is ready to share more information, we'll just have to be patient.

Dr Dan

Thank you for adding your perspective. It is so hard not to indulge in speculation. But your are right, there is so little known all we can do is wait — and extend him and his family our thoughts and prayers.

Superintendent Gwen Chan brought a comfort package to Norman's house late yesterday. We still have not heard anything new from the Yee family. I understand the district might be issuing a press release on Monday regarding Norman's condition and a message from him. We sure hope he recovers quickly and joins us for the 2007 year.
