The Developing Minds video series is a success oriented approach to understanding and demystifying a student's learning profile that focuses on strengthening strengths and developing strategies that work for children, adolescents, parents, and teachers.

Cosponsored by the San Francisco Unified School District, Schwab Learning (a service of the Charles & Helen Schwab Foundation), Community Advisory Committee for Special Education, San Francisco PTA, the San Francisco School Volunteers, Support for Families of Children with Disabilities and Friends of the San Francisco Public Library

Thursday, March 22
Balboa High Open House

Balboa High School will host an Open House Thursday, March 22nd ,
6:00-8:00 pm.

Eighth graders who have been assigned to Balboa for the 2007-08 school year, or any student who is not satisfied with their high school assignment for next year, as well as seventh grade families wishing to get an early start on the high school search, are invited to meet the staff, parents and current students of Bal.

Come see why more and more families are choosing Balboa, with its focus on small learning communities and personalized attention, over the larger high schools. Learn about Balboa's honors program, Advanced Placement courses, new Mandarin class, and Grab n Go Breakfast. Meet Principal Patricia Gray, who was named the SFUSD Outstanding Educator for 2004 by the California Schoolmasters' Club. Dinner will be served, and families are welcome to attend.

Balboa is located at 1000 Cayuga Avenue, in a quiet family neighborhood, just past the intersection of Ocean and San Jose Avenues. MUNI transportation is available via the following bus lines: 14, 26, 29, 43, 44, and 54, as well as the J, K, and M streetcars, and BART.

SPECIAL ED CITIZENS' ADVISORY COMMITTEE: The SPED CAC will meet on Thursday, Feb. 22, 7-8:30 p.m., at Open Gate, 2601 Mission St., sixth floor conference room. (This is the U.S. Bank Building at 22nd and Mission). Parking is available in the lot; enter from 22nd Street.
