Sure, there's a new superintendent. The budget needs to be published and approved. Labor negotiations are simmering. There are still plenty of school issues to blog about.
But it is summer time. We do have other priorities.
Since its founding in 2000, many dedicated school stakeholders have gathered on sfschools@yahoogroups.com to advocate for better schools in San Francisco. The Yahoo group is great for engaging, moblizing, sharing information with a very motivated, diverse group of parents, educators, politicians, and reporters. If you like what you read here and you want to add your voice to our conversation, please join us.
"Think globally, act locally" is an apt motto for this blog. Many issues facing San Francisco schools are regional and national in scope. Here we share our experiences and ideas with a wider audience. Also, many San Franciscans prefer to skip the often passionate debate found on the list. The blog provides them with useful information in an accessible format.
Enjoy!
