The Yahoo group is great for engaging, moblizing, sharing information with a very motivated, diverse group of parents, educators, politicians, and reporters. If you like what you read here and you want to add your voice to our conversation, please join us.
SfSchools, the blog
"Think globally, act locally" is an apt motto for this blog. Many issues facing San Francisco schools are regional and national in scope. Here we share our experiences and ideas with a wider audience. Also, many San Franciscans prefer to skip the often passionate debate found on the list. The blog provides them with useful information in an accessible format.

The SFPTA has some great archives too; in the absence of the energy to go borrow photos to scan and post, I just have to describe the gist. There are photos of PTAs from now-long-gone schools like Farragut. They're huge groups of all white women in dresses, heels, hats and gloves. Oh, and handwritten minutes of meetings in the '30s, carefully saved in scrapbooks.
